Is it T.J. Ford at point guard and Jarrett Jack at shooting guard, or is it Jack at point guard and Ford at shooting guard?
“It’s really either-or,” Jack said. “Whoever gets the rebound pushes the ball ahead to the other guy and we go from there.”
A shortage of players at the wing position Monday allowed Ford and Jack to start together for the first time in the Indiana Pacers’ 103-95 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum.
“With guys going down, Jarrett was able to get in the starting lineup and we were able to get a lot of minutes together and give coach another look,” Ford said. “We may be able to do this some more during the season.”
The Pacers were shorthanded at shooting guard because Mike Dunleavy (knee), Danny Granger (elbow) and Marquis Daniels (groin) were out with injuries.
Coach Jim O’Brien kept either Ford or Jack in the game at all times to play point guard. Brandon Rush and Stephen Graham also played shooting guard.
