TJ's Back!

TJ Ford’s return to the court was made official last night when he logged 18 minutes of play in Toronto’s 114-82 win over the Miami Heat. TJ finished the night with 4 points and 4 rebounds, but just having him on the court was enough to give the Raptors a lift. While admittedly rusty after only one practice with the team, TJ impressed with a powerful dunk and some passes that reminded his teammates why he is such a valuable member of the club.

“Back like old times,” said Chris Bosh. “I knew he was down in Houston working hard … and it’s really paid off.”

TJ himself was surprised to get into a game so quickly after rejoining the team, but was ready to go when called upon.

“I think the performance speaks for itself,” Ford said. “I don’t think people expected me to be able to come in and still do the things I normally do. I don’t think people anticipated that. I wasn’t limited at all. The biggest thing is I am healthy, I’m not playing hurt and that’s the difference between now and a couple of months ago when I did come back early. Now I’m not injured.”

The Raptors don’t play again until Friday, which will give TJ more of an opportunity to practice with his teammates and get back into his rhythm.

TJ, you are my favorite play you are so fast it just make basket ball games so much more fun, I am so sorry about your accident, and believe me don’t let some of those Toronto fans get to you they are like that with everyone, they expect a player no matter what you play win every night they were like that with Jose when he just came to the Raptors, they were like that with Bosh, they were like that with Sam and some still are and most of all if you speak to Ad – former Raptors, Vince – former face of the franchise and Stademire they will all tell you the same thing, I patiently wait for anything to happen with Jose and they will be the same, Jorge is down it was the same thing how could he do this to us, how could he play for his country and now he can’t play for us, just play hard and don’t worry about what they say my man, that’s how they are. Keep doing what you are doing TJ, you are the best.
