TJ Ford will visit IPS School 99 tomorrow to make a donation to the school’s uniform closet for those students in need, as well as to spend some time with the kids.
From 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., Ford and IPS Superintendent Dr. Eugene White will meet with students in the school’s gym. TJ will speak with the students about teamwork, school pride, hard work and treating others with respect while emphasizing the importance of working together for school and student success on the ISTEP test. TJ will also make a financial donation, provide 200 tickets to the Pacers’ Opening Night game against Boston, Nov. 1 (students will earn these through hard work, attendance and good behavior) and has teamed up with Smith Brauer, a family and cosmetic dentistry practice, to provide the school with dental items. These donations will be presented to Dr. White and school principal Ms. Marcia Johnson.
“While I’m new to Indianapolis, I want to give back to the fans, especially kids,” said TJ. “There are a lot of opportunities out there for kids to be successful in life and it starts with education.”
After the assembly, there will be a “Fun with T.J. Ford Day” on the school’s playground from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Ford, Boomer (the Pacers’ mascot), the Pacemates and the Pacers Fan Van will be on hand. Pizza and drinks will be served. At 3:15 p.m., Ford will distribute gift bags to the students.
